Terms of Service

These terms apply to domestic EV charger installation services provided by Nexphase Energy (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking an installation, requesting works, or paying a deposit/invoice, you agree to these terms.

Last updated: 2026-02-06

1. Scope of service

We provide domestic EV chargepoint installation services, including design, supply (where agreed), installation, testing, commissioning, certification, and Distribution Network Operator (DNO) notification as standard for every installation.

We do not carry out full consumer unit upgrades as a service. Where required, we may install a dedicated EV board / micro consumer unit (or equivalent approved arrangement) to safely supply the chargepoint.

2. Quotes, surveys and pricing

Any price provided before attending site is a provisional quote. The final price is confirmed after an on-site safety survey (or equivalent checks) and agreed before installation starts.

If we discover material issues that affect safety, compliance, time or cost (for example: unsafe existing installation, inadequate bonding, inaccessible routes, damaged equipment, or unexpected building fabric constraints), we will explain the options and agree any revised price before proceeding.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, quoted prices cover standard domestic installation only and exclude remedial works to unrelated circuits or pre-existing defects.

3. Your responsibilities (access & readiness)

  • Provide safe access to the meter position, consumer unit, and proposed cable route.
  • Ensure pets are secured and working areas are kept clear.
  • Confirm you have authority to approve works at the property (owner/landlord permission where required).
  • Provide reliable mobile/Wi-Fi signal where required for charger setup (depends on model). If connectivity is not available, the charger may still operate but some smart features may be limited.

4. Installation standards, testing & certification

We install EV chargepoints in accordance with applicable standards and manufacturer instructions, including BS 7671 requirements.

Every installation includes electrical testing using calibrated test equipment and EV chargepoint functional verification (simulating a vehicle connection) prior to handover.

You will receive the relevant electrical certification and EV chargepoint documentation on completion, along with confirmation of DNO notification.

5. DNO notification (completed as standard)

We complete DNO notification for every EV chargepoint installation and provide confirmation as part of our standard process. You agree that we may submit required installation details to the DNO to complete this notification.

6. Recommended chargers & manufacturer warranty

Where we supply the charger, we supply a small range of manufacturer-approved units. Our standard recommended chargers include a minimum 3-year manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty terms are provided by the manufacturer and may be subject to registration requirements and conditions (for example: network connectivity, firmware updates, or product registration).

If you supply your own charger, you are responsible for ensuring it is suitable for UK domestic installation and you retain any manufacturer warranty responsibilities. We may refuse to install equipment that appears unsafe, counterfeit, modified, or non-compliant.

7. Payment

Payment terms (deposit, balance, and timing) will be confirmed at booking and/or on the invoice. Unless stated otherwise, payment is due on completion. Late payment may delay issuing of documents or follow-up support.

We are not VAT registered at present, so VAT is not charged unless our VAT status changes in future.

8. Cancellations & rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as early as possible. Where an appointment is cancelled at short notice after materials have been ordered or travel has been committed, we may charge for unrecoverable costs.

If we attend site and cannot proceed due to lack of access, unsafe conditions, or undisclosed issues, we may charge an attendance fee to cover time and travel.

9. Delays, weather and unforeseen conditions

Some installations involve external works and cable routes that depend on weather, safe access and site conditions. We will always prioritise safety. If conditions prevent safe work, we may pause and reschedule.

10. Liability and limitations

Nothing in these terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence).

Subject to that, our liability is limited to the reasonable cost of re-performing the services or rectifying defects in our workmanship. We are not responsible for losses arising from pre-existing faults, unsafe legacy wiring, third-party equipment, or issues outside the scope of the agreed work.

11. Photos and documentation

We may take installation photos for technical records, certification support and quality assurance. We will not publish identifiable customer details without permission.

12. Privacy

Personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. View Privacy Policy.

13. Complaints and contact

If you have a concern, contact us first and we’ll do a proper investigation. We aim to resolve issues quickly and fairly.
